Ingredients

  • 4 large oranges
  • 1 tbsp mixed dried fruit
  • 1 eating apple, grated
  • 2 tsps dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps orange juice
  • ¼ tsp mixed spice

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas Mark 6.
  2. Using a serrated knife, cut away the peel and pith from the outside of the oranges.
  3. Place the dried fruit, apple, sugar, orange juice and spice in a small saucepan and simmer until the fruit is soft.
  4. Slice the oranges and place in the middle of 4 pieces of kitchen foil on a baking tray. Spoon the simmered fruit mix over and wrap up in 4 separate parcels. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot and sprinkle with a little extra sugar, if desired.

Tips

Make the fruit mixture in advance for a speedy hot dessert.
