Honey baked apples

Ingredients

  • 4 eating apples
  • 2 tbsps runny honey
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • ¼ tsp mixed spice
  • 1 tbsp demerara sugar (optional)

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas Mark 6.
  2. Using a serrated knife, cut 4 incisions around the outside of each apple then place the apples in an ovenproof dish. Drizzle with the honey, orange zest and sprinkle with the mixed spice.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, until the apples are soft.
  4. Serve hot sprinkled with a little demerara sugar if desired.
