Ingredients
- 600g cooking apples
- 2 tbsps demerara sugar
- 100g plain flour
- 70g low-fat spread
- 2 tbsps caster sugar
Cooking Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas Mark 6. Peel, core and slice the apples into a bowl of lightly salted water, rinse well and place in the bottom of an ovenproof dish. Scatter with caster sugar.
- Mix the flour and demerara sugar together. Rub in the margarine and pile on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top and the apples are soft.
- Serve hot with low-fat custard or virtually fat-free fromage frais.
Tips
Slice the apples into lightly salted water, then rinse for perfect white apples.
