Ingredients

  • 80g white bread
  • 1 Crunchie bar
  • 2 eggs
  • 300ml semi-skimmed milk
  • icing sugar, for dusting

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas Mark 6.
  2. Cut the bread into small pieces and place in the bottom of an ovenproof dish.
  3. Chop the Crunchie bar into small shavings and scatter over the bread.
  4. Heat the milk in a small saucepan until just before boiling point.
  5. Beat the eggs and mix in the hot milk. Pour over the bread and Crunchie shavings, then push down the bread with the back of a spoon to allow the liquid to be soaked up.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until set and golden on top.
  7. Dust with icing sugar and serve hot with low-fat yogurt.

Tips

Allow the bread to soak up the milk mixture before cooking so you end up with a soft, creamy texture.
