Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon Sandwich

Afternoon tea is a great British tradition but the sandwiches and cakes can be packed with fat and calories. Here Dean shows you how to save over a 100 calories on a shop bought salmon and cream cheese variety at only 236 calories per sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices wholemeal bread
  • 50g low-fat soft cheese
  • 2 slices smoked salmon
  • lemon juice
  • black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. Spread the 4 slices of wholemeal bread with a thin layer of cream cheese.
  2. Add the smoked salmon to 2 sides and squeeze over a little lemon juice and season with black pepper.
  3. Place the other slices on top and trim away the crusts with serated knife.
  4. Cut into triangles and cover with food wrap until ready to serve.
