Ingredients

  • 4 rump steaks, approx. 100g each
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp lemongrass paste
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 small red chilli, sliced
  • 6 basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsps runny honey
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. Trim any visible fat from the steaks and discard. Place the steaks in a non-stick baking tray and season with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Mix together the remaining ingredients in a small bowl and drizzle over the steaks. Leave the steaks to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the grill or a barbecue.
  3. When the steaks have been marinated, cook them under the hot grill or on the barbecue for 8-10 minutes until just cooked, turning them over halfway through cooking.
  4. Serve with a mixed salad and 200g boiled new potatoes per person.

Tips

Choose thick steaks so they won't dry out on the barbecue.
