Red wine venison sausages

Ingredients

  • 300g venison sausages
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp grain mustard
  • 200ml red wine
  • 200ml water
  • 2–3 tsp gravy granules
  • 300g carrot sticks
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick frying pan until hot, then add the sausages and dry-fry until lightly browned.
  2. Add the onion and continue cooking until soft.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients, season with salt and black pepper and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes until the sausages are cooked through.
  5. Adjust the seasoning.
  6. Then serve with 1 yellow Portion Pot® (100g) mashed potato per person and unlimited broccoli and carrots.

Tips

For a fuller flavour, cook on a low setting in a slow cooker for 2 hours.

I made this recipe this evening with Quorn sausages as i did not fancy the venison sausages, it was really Delicious. Will be making this again!!!
