Ingredients
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 400g lean braising steak
- 2 celery sticks, chopped
- 200g button mushrooms
- 300ml red wine
- 300ml water
- 1 tbsp gravy granules
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- chopped fresh parsley, to garnish
Cooking Instructions
- Heat a non-stick pan (with lid) and dry-fry the onion and garlic until soft.
- Add the braising steak and cook to seal the meat.
- Add the celery, mushrooms and red wine and mix well, adding 300ml of water. Stir in the gravy granules, making sure they dissolve.
- Cover with a lid and simmer gently for a minimum of 40 minutes until the meat is tender.
- Just before serving, sprinkle in the parsley. Serve with 115g new potatoes per person and additional unlimited mixed vegetables.
Tips
This is an ideal recipe to cook in a slow cooker or an electric wok.
