Ingredients

  • 400g minced pork
  • 2 tsps vegetable stock powder
  • 1 x 137g can pineapple in juice, drained and chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh sage
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 4 spring onions, finely chopped
  • freshly ground black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, season with black pepper and combine well with a wooden spoon. Divide the mixture into 4 and mould into burger shapes with your hands. Cover with food wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a barbecue or grill. Cook the burgers on a hot barbecue or under a hot grill for 20-25 minutes, turning them regularly.
  3. Check that they are cooked through to the centre (there should be no pink meat left) by cutting one of the burgers in half. Serve with a side salad and a Tomato, Ginger and Lime salsa.

Tips

This recipe also works well using minced chicken or turkey instead of pork.
