Mustard Beef Burgers

A robust chunky beef and mustard low fat burger recipe, perfect on the BBQ, health grill or griddle pan. Adding the coarse grain mustard and chopped herbs really cranks up the flavour. 154 calories per serving

Mustard beef burgers

Ingredients

  • 400g extra lean minced beef
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp freeze-dried fine herbs
  • 1-2 tsps vegetable stock powder
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine well with a wooden spoon.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 and use your hands to mould into burger shapes, then flatten them slightly with your palms. Cover with food wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat a barbecue or grill. Cook the burgers for 20 minutes, turning them every 5 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Before serving, cut one of the burgers in half to check the centre is cooked. Serve with a salad of your choice.
