I am 59 and just been told i am in menopause and also at the same time been told I have a Thyriod problem so am now on 25mg of thyroxine.
I feel my battery has gone completely, I do not sleep, tried, moody the list is endless, My doctor has given me sleeping tablets, which have at least given me some sleep in the last two weeks,I am now only taking a 1/4 tablet at night, I do not want to get hooked on them...I do not know whether to try HRT? I have lost a stone since going to RC classes and boy has it been an effort, but I will not give in, and I do not want to put the weight back on. I am back to the doctors soon for more blood test to check my thyroid, so I will ask him if HRT my help me.......

I was so interested in your article in the new magazine that I wanted to log on to this web site. I had a hysterectomy 19 years ago I am only 55 but a year ago I was told I had been on far too long and had to come off. Since then I have put on weight around my tummy area, cannot sleep well feel unwell all the time and as you say the battery feels run down. I have a new doctor now as the other retired and he just said its down to you if you want to go back on but no advice on if its a good idea or what is the longest anyone had been using it for. Can anyone give me some sound advice? I am going back to a local class soon to try and get rid of the weight but feel confused as I dont eat much these days as I have no appettite...help...........Forgot to mention they took my ovaries out at the same time.

DQ1I had a hysterectomy 18months ago, i kept my ovaries, i am not on HRT, does this mean, however much i exercise and maintain a healthly diet, my waistline will increase. I have been for the last month power walking and toning exercises i have noticed a difference and feel the benefits, will i ever be a size 10 again, as i was before my hysterectomy?
